Message from our CEO
Continuity and Execution
February 2010
I am privileged to assume the role of Moravia Worldwide CEO after Katerina Janku, who has led the company since just after its founding in the early 1990s. Under her leadership, we have grown from a local translation company into a global service provider, and we are proud of our large portfolio of loyal, long-standing, blue-chip customers. I will work hard to maintain and grow our reputation and business further.
I joined Moravia in 1996, and I worked in the company in many positions - as Software Engineer, Project Manager, Chief Operations Officer, Director of Sales for Europe and most recently as Managing Director. These varied roles have given me a comprehensive understanding of Moravia and our strengths. They also gave me the opportunity to be in close contact with our customers across many levels and functions, and allowed me to understand their needs, the issues and challenges they face, and also their requirements for globalization providers like Moravia.
In a similar vein, I have worked extensively with the many reliable partners and suppliers we have globally, and that has given me a perspective of the overall value-add chain and what kind of customer we are to our partners. This has also made me realize what makes Moravia different.
There is a consensus among CEOs today that "Priority #1" for companies is excellence in execution, and that will be my focus as well.
I have been always fortunate to work with outstanding, dedicated colleagues across all of Moravia's locations and departments. In this sense, I am honored to work with our senior management team. These managers represent decades of experience in localization and business and also a great mix of various fields of experience. Having worked with them for a long time, I value especially one aspect of this team - while they bring different knowledge and may hold diverse views and opinions, we are always able to find consensus and focus on execution.
Execution
I am not coming to this new role with any radically new vision for the company. There is a consensus among CEOs today that "Priority #1" for companies is excellence in execution, and that will be my focus as well. Moravia has a great long-term strategy, which under the leadership of my predecessor has made our company successful. I will continue executing our current strategy and vision for how we will best serve our customers. With my operations background, I understand the importance of integrating strategy and operations and in doing so creating sustainable excellence in performance.
Continuity
The company's board has decided to emphasize continuity and knowledge of the company in selecting me as an "insider" - as opposed to hiring outside talent - as Moravia's new CEO. In my work I want to combine my deep knowledge of Moravia with our board's strategic direction. I look forward to working with them and also with my predecessor Katerina Janku, who will continue to serve the company as Chairman of the Board of Directors and as a member of the Strategic Advisory Board, and so will continue to play an integral role in Moravia's strategic initiatives and growth.
To our many fine customers, to the hard-working and dedicated Moravian's worldwide, to our trusted partners and suppliers, I look forward to working with you all to achieve the top priority of executing our strategy and to serving you all. I invite you to contact me at any time and look forward to meeting many of you personally in the future.
Tomas Kratochvil
