Meet Us at the LRC-X Conference in Limerick

Brno, Czech Republic - September 6th, 2005

Software testing and localization have many things in common, and the issue of how to measure quality is one. Like localization, testing does not have one overarching quality standard, rather, a number of approaches exist, and many of these are customer- or product-specific.

Speaking on this topic at the upcoming 10th Annual Internationalisation and Localisation Conference will be Roman Civin, manager of Moravia's testing and engineering QASight Business Unit. We would like to invite you and your industry colleagues to meet us at this event, which is organized by the Localisation Research Centre (LRC) in Limerick, Ireland, on September 13-14, 2005.

In his presentation, titled Measured Quality in Testing, Roman will describe the existing definitions of quality in software testing and QA and how these are applied in actual practice. He will review what quality assurance steps need to be considered and how they should fit in the overall testing process, including what to measure, when and how. The focus will be on localization testing project success indicators and how to review and communicate their status.

Overall, this presentation aims to serve as a guide to understanding quality and measuring quality of software testing in real life. It aims to outline the concepts you need to pin down, it will address some common issues and provide tips, solutions and best practices for both client and vendor teams involved in measuring quality of testing.

The audience will take away:

  • an appreciation of the current issues associated in measuring quality in testing;
  • practical tips and recommendations, based on experience from the client and supplier side, on how to avoid the most frequent pitfalls involved;
  • understanding of how the concept and process of measuring quality changes;
  • an appreciation of the issues which client and vendor testing teams face in measuring quality.
